Chairman's Desk

As the Chairman of the Indian Centre for the Advancement of Research and Education (ICARE), a non-profit, nongovernment society for the upliftment of the poor and underprivileged people of this part of Bengal, I feel great pleasure and happiness to introduce Haldia Institute of Health Sciences to all of you. It is, indeed, a great achievement for ICARE in its relentless and dedicated effort to make this region a notable centre of education to open up opportunities to the aspiring students to pursue different types of career-oriented courses here at Haldia itself without the compulsion of going elsewhere, far away from their home. Our dream and commitment to develop Haldia Institute of Health Sciences started in the year 2003. It has seen many phases of development since then. We are now entering the phase of stability. We are on the brink of conquering the pinnacle of success. The institute is now in the full bloom and it has made its presence felt all over the country and abroad. Education is the key to create a society, which is dynamic and productive, providing opportunity and equality to all. It is one of the most essential indications of human development, the importance of which cannot be undermined. It unlocks the treasure that lies within all of us. In this ever changing and fast developing era, knowledge and skills are the keys to success. In my opinion, good teachers, using most effective methods with practical vision can transform this dream into reality. We must make sure that they are aware of, and carry out this responsibility to the best of their ability. Successful institutions do not just happen. They are effective because all those who work in there, have a commitment to make them succeed. Leadership, teamwork and sound management structures all go together to move such institutions forward at a time of rapid, frequent and seemingly never-ending changes. All of us want our children to succeed in all their endeavors. Our role as parents and teachers should be to equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to achieve their goals and deal effectively with their future life situations later on. At Haldia Institute of Health Sciences as well as in ICARE, we are striving to give shape to the above vision with the help of a dedicated team of leaders, administrators, academic planners and competent teachers who are trying their best to fulfill the aspirations of all those who have admitted their children with dreams.
