M.Sc. in Applied Nutrition (MAN)

Duration: 2 Years
Intake Capacity: 20 (Twenty)

Eligibility Criteria: B.Sc. Nutrition (Honours/Pass). The candidate must pass full-time regular course in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Food & Nutrition / Dietetics / Food Science / Biochemistry/ Physiology/ Food Technology OR B. Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from any recognized university, Candidates must score minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the above qualifying examination. Candidates passing out the above courses before 2018 are not eligible. Mode of Admission: Through JEMAS-PG entrance examination and subsequent counselling conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB).

Career Prospect:
a) Eligible to apply for the post of "School Teacher" after qualifying the Teachers' Eligibility Tests like SSC in the state of West Bengal.
b) Eligible to be recruited as an "Chief Clinical Nutritionist" or "Chief Dietitian" at various Central/State Govt. /Private Hospitals, Nursing Homes etc.
c) Can get job in Food and Nutrition sector as a "Nutritionist" or "Quality Control Supervisor".
d) Eligible to apply for the post of a "Asst. Professor" at a college conducting courses on Nutrition.
e) Have the opportunity to go for further studies in the field of Nutrition, Applied Nutrition, and Dietetics etc and also in the field of Hospital Management etc.
f) After qualifying the NET or equivalent Examination, one can become a Junior Research Fellow or Research Associate at various Govt. sponsored Research Projects at prestigious institutions.
