M.Sc in Laboratory Technology (Immuno Haematology & Blood Banking)

Intake Capacity: 30 (Thirty)

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology/ B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology from any recognized university.

Mode of Admission: Through JEMAS-PG entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board.

Syllabus Outline:  Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Clinical Biochemistry,  Community Medicine, Clinical Pathology, Histopathology  & Cytopathology, Clinical Microbiology, Haematology, Immunology, Communicative English, Computer application, Endocrinology, Research Methodology & Biostatistics, Environment Science & Health, Laboratory Instrumentation, Serology , Blood Bank & Blood Transfusion, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Advanced Diagnostic  & Approaches, Immuno Haematology , Blood Components & Transfusion Therapy, Blood  Component separation , Blood & Legal aspects of blood banking, Recent advanced in blood banking techniques etc.

Career Prospect: 

  • Can get a job as a Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist or Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist in the Department of Blood Bank in various Central/State Govt. Hospitals, reputed Private Hospitals, Blood banks, Diagnostic Centres etc.
  • Can set up his or her own Diagnostic Centre, Pathological Laboratory etc.
  • Can join an allied health science institute or Medical Laboratory Technology College as an Assistant Professor.
  • After qualifying the NET or equivalent Examination, one can become a Junior Research Fellow or Research Associate at various Govt. sponsored Research Projects at prestigious institutions.
